The Great Ocean Road: The Twelve Apostles
(to pictures) • NEXT •

List of Photos:

The "apostles" are rock formations called "stacks". The soft limestone that forms the rocks and cliffs was originally marine sediment composed of the skeletal remains of sea life. Once exposed, years of water and wind create these formations. There apparently aren't exactly twelve of them at any given time, but someone thought that the name would make a good tourist draw. They're neat to look at anyway.

These (click here) are the pictures from the Twelve Apostles.
