The last stop on my "cheesy American tourist" tour was the
Eiffel Tower. I wasn't feeling very well by this point in the trip, and the
weather was really crappy (intermittent snow, rain, and wind), but I figured
it was worth a shot to go up anyway. Let me just say that I'm terrified
of heights; I almost wet myself on the way up, but it was actually pretty
cool. Unfortunately, the view was seriously obscured by the weather, but
I took what I could get. The pictures aren't that great, but they sure
capture the gloom ;)
The most amusing part of the ride up, of course, is that I had purchased some
particularly smelly cheese to eat with dinner, which was contained in a bag
I had with me. A group of American tourists
(of the obnoxious variety) kept sniffing at each other and accusing each other
of smelling like cheese. Being the nice person that I am, I did nothing to
disabuse them of the notion...
