Bacharach is a lovely little town on the Rhine. Yes, it's a bit touristy, but arriving on a quiet
Saturday morning and watching the town wake up is nice. There aren't as many pictures as I'd
intended due to some bad wine at the youth hostel in the evening, but I did enjoy the place.
By the way, I really do recommend the youth hostel - Burg Stahleck is a lovely castle above Bacharach
with fantastic views of the Rhine and nearby vineyards. Sleeping in the castle is fun, and the
staff is quite friendly. The castle gate is locked at 10, but the dining room is opened up for the
grown-ups to chat and sample beers and local wines. It was a lot of fun :)
