Our church wedding was a wonderful, relaxed meeting of friends and
family at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in West Lafayette, Indiana.
We had deliberately (and mostly successfully) avoided most
of the trappings of unnecessary formality that make both of us
uncomfortable while still managing to do the important stuff.
Father Bunder gave a wonderful sermon that somehow managed to
encapsulate how I feel about a lot of things, and our friends and
family made the whole experience a whole lot of fun. We hope they
enjoyed it as much we did. Nothing went as planned, and everything
went as planned, and it was comfortable and joyous and we were pleased.
Christian did find his beard for this one. It was an altogether
less stressful affair than our German wedding, and in spite of
lots of travel before and afterwards, we enjoyed it. It was a nice
way to be able to say farewell to Purdue and the friends we have
there. (Many thanks to the best man and maid of honor for putting
up with us having no idea what to do at any given point in time! ;)
